Your wedding day is a very special day, and the reception is a major
part of the planning process. There are several things to consider:
1.) Location
2.) Time of Year
3.) Color Palette
4.) Budget
5.) Style

Here are a few tips and ideas to help make your choices easier.
1.) Location
- You will want to make sure that the reception location that you choose is
large enough to accommodate the guests invited.
- Is the location convenient for most of your guests?
- Are they available for the date you need, and if so, how soon do you need
to reserve space.
- What items do they supply? ie: tables, tablecovers, dinnerware,
catering
- Do they allow alcohol and if so, do they have a bartender to use.
- Do they have room for a dance floor?
- Do they allow additional decorations? Some halls, etc. do not allow
certain items (confetti, etc.)
- What other requirements/restrictions do they have?
2.) Time of Year
- Do you have enough time to plan, save money, order or reserve items?
- Weather
- Around or on a holiday, ie: Valentine's Day, Sweetest Day, New Year's Eve
- Consider where your honeymoon destination is and what time of year.
- Sentimental dates
3.) Color Palette
- Your favorite colors, yours and your husband-to-be
- Colors based on time of year, ie: winter wedding - whites, baby blues,
etc.. (see themed weddings)
4.) Budget
- Your budget will be very important in planning your wedding. You can
still have a fabulous wedding on a smaller budget. It's all about being
creative!
5.) Style
- Your style can be based on many different things, ie: sentimental reasons,
your personal style, something you like that you have seen in a magazine,
store, or online.

Silk petals don't look realistic, fresh petals wilt quickly
and can stain clothing. Our freeze dried petals retain the soft texture and
shape of fresh petals while lasting for months. Freeze-dried petals are more
acceptable to churches and event facilities for tossing because the moisture
has been removed and there is less risk of staining carpets, floors, and
clothing. Rose petal toss portions can be prepared in advance, you can make
your own rose petal pathway, and you can decorate your hall and tables with
rose petals yourselves long before the wedding begins. Petals can be used to
decorate the reception tables, accent the wedding cake, cover the aisle
runner and the most popular trend is to use them for a petal
toss after the wedding.

Scatter small glass tealight holders with non-scented
tealights on tabletops.
-
Use a tall centerpiece for tables, one that won't be in the
way of conversations, ie: a tall clear glass flute, with beautiful
flowers hanging out from the top. Make sure to weight down the bottom, so it
will not tip.
-
Use faux potted trees for entryways and in corners.
Decorate with tiny white lights. This gives off a beautiful and glowing
look.
-
Decorate head table by using a dramatic centerpiece, such
as, a gorgeous fresh flower arrangement set in a unique vase. Scatter
tealights in glass holders.
-
If hosting a more formal event, use real dishes, glasses,
silverware and cloth napkins and tablecovers. Most banquet or
reception halls furnish or rent these items.
