In choosing your wedding cake, there are many things to
consider. First, you should begin your search at least 4-6 months prior to
the wedding. Here are some other wedding cake tips:
- Choose a licensed cake designer or bakery. (Some
reception halls require this.)
- Make appointments with 3-5 different bakers.
- Prior to your appointments, write down your wedding date, how many guests,
reception location, phone number for reception, and your name and phone
number. Have these ready for your consultation with the baker/cake
designer.
- Get an idea of budget ahead of time, so that you are prepared and don't
overspend.
- Wedding cakes can run from $2.00 per person to $20.00 per person, so it is
easy to get carried away.
- Taste-Test! Grab your mom, hubby-to-be, and/or maid of
honor, and taste test what each bakery has to offer. You will need to
call ahead and make an appointment for this. Bring a journal to keep
track of favorites.
- View their portfolios and note your favorites.
